Patch Walk and Drizzle

Location: Patch - Newton St Loe

Weather: Drizzle, Rain and Grey

Other Species: 
Bullfinch, Greenfinch,Goldfinch, Swift, House Martin, Barn Swallow, Yellowhammer, Linnet, Coal Tit, Whitethroat, House Sparrow, Starling, Mistle Thrush, Kingfisher - Total 41 Species. 

Observation:

Drizzle on the forecast but decided to go for walk anyway, on leaving home had a Greenfinch on feeders, not been about for a few weeks and always nice to see.

Also Goldfinch, Blue Tit's and Great Tits with plenty of Juveniles also a female Bullfinch, we normally get 4 Bullfinch's on tree.

But also this male with fungal feet.

On walking out through Bath Mill Blackcap, Wrens and Blackbirds hiding in the wet woodland.

Up on to fields and this assortment I saw 4 Greenfinch, 6 Yellowhammers and 5 Linnet,

Whitethroat numbers lower now but still a few about, this one a bit wet.

On out to Village and House Martins and Barn Swallow number good this year, but minus 2 House Martins which have fallen with nest with chicks inside, this was this pair of  House Martins second brood. Was chatting to a nice lady from Truespeed (local business) who said last year they had 1 House Martin nest but this year they have had  12 nests !! 

GOOD JOB !

On walking on out to lakes Mistle thrush a group of 5/6 seen and a Kingfisher darted past from bottom to top lake, apart from gardeners cutting grass and very noisy leaf blowers ! Pretty quiet. 

Saw this Pied wagtail in College chasing flies.

Walking return route down back drive a group of around 30 Starling feeding in fields.

House Sparrows on hedgerows by Newton Farm foods shop, carried on home with nothing else to add.
