Observation:
Feeders were full this morning with 15+ Goldfinch, Coal Tit, Herring Gull and Crow in Carpark plus Blue and Great Tit also. On opening front door had a Male and Female Bullfinch as well! Walked down into Bath Mill And Redwing were flitting across Brook I guess berries must be running low out the lanes? But this one posed long enough to snap a couple of shots off.
While watching a Grey Wagtail landed, not seen them since the floods .
Then! A Song Thrush on same tree as Redwing's what a start I've
only walked 250ft from front door!
Blackbirds at least 5 in same group they must be some tasty berries!
Bit further along into Bath Mill a party of Long Tailed Tits, Plus Nuthatch and Green Woodpecker flyovers.
First part of walk was ace perfect light too! 3rd Coal Tit of the day.
Up on to Fields more Blackbirds, Robins and Wren even Dunnock putting on a good show and good numbers.
While looking over on to the Globe Fields frost was still heavy, a group of 50 birds including Lesser Black Backed and Black Headed Gulls were on Fields.
Oh yeah and Train Spotters 5 guys waiting for the Tornado 60163 Steam Train, funny thing was the farmer entered fields with tractor and started to muck spread!
LOL, I watched for a bit but decided to carry on walk. This guy was 1 hour early!
More Nuthatch total count for the day was 4 with another Green Woodpecker. At Lakes a frozen Waterfall complete with icicles.
Bottom lake no fisherman but a few Mallard and a female Wigeon, I wonder if this the same Wigeon that keeps appearing?? Also 2 Mute Swan on Lake.
Top Lake oh dear frozen 3/4 of it anyway 40 Black Headed Gulls, 22 Teal a good count and Mallard all top end.
Groundsmen from College burning Rhododendron but cool smoke through the trees.
2 Common Gulls on back Drive and a ending count of 36 low but some quality!
